The film makes use of a remarkable archive of material created by the legendary photographer W. Eugene Smith in and around his Manhattan loft home. It is believed to be the largest ever audio/photo resource documenting a single place over several years –The Jazz Loft Tapes and Photos.
This film is part of our Summer Music Meltdown taking place over July and August, bringing you classic music films ranging from Soul, Punk, Jazz, Reggae, and Americana. We bring the festival to you this summer - no need to travel just sit back and enjoy the sounds from our new improved sound system!
This event is curated and hosted by the folk at Dark Circles Coffee & Music Bar, and will be followed by some serious jazz sounds at our late bar opening til 11pm after the screening.
