Stud Life embodies the best of indie possibilities for queer film.
JJ and her best friend Seb, a gay pretty boy, work as wedding photographers. When JJ falls in love with a beautiful diva, JJ and Seb's friendship is tested. The plot hinges on a romance between two black women, and the main character is butch – two forms of representation that are often missing in mainstream productions. It's provocative, edgy, and takes on gender, sexuality and urban street life as well as sharing a tale of love and friendship.

Stud Life offers an authentic snapshot of queer, sensual sexuality. This film is hot!

The screening includes a Q&A with the film's writer/director Campbell X. Stud Life was named in The Guardian as one of the 10 most important Black UK films in the last 40 years.

The Q&A will be hosted by Asten Holmes-Elliott, artist and filmmaker, committee member for the Scottish Queer International Film Festival, and part of Widening The Lens, a talent development scheme of diverse filmmakers.
