Free Party: A Folk History is an independently made feature documentary following the birth of the free party movement in the late '80s and early '90s and the impact it's had on our present times. The film follows the inception of the movement, a meeting between ravers and the new age travellers during Thatcher's last days in power, and the explosive years that followed, leading up the infamous Castlemorton free festival in 1992 - the largest ever illegal rave, which provoked the drastic change of the laws of trespass with the notorious introduction of the Criminal Justice Act in 1994.

Through a rich tapestry of archival footage, personal anecdotes, and expert analysis the film takes viewers on a journey through the untold story of the free party movement, as narrated by the individuals who lived and experienced its vibrant energy firsthand.

Featuring in-depth interviews with key figures such as SPIRAL TRIBE, DIY, BEDLAM, CIRCUS WARP, and many others, the documentary provides a comprehensive perspective on the movement's cultural significance and enduring legacy.

Prepare to be transported back to an era of music, freedom, and rebellion as Free Party: A Folk History invites you to witness the extraordinary journey of a movement that forever reshaped the boundaries of expression and collective celebration.

Saturday night's screening will include a special intro and Q&A with cast members.
