I am the Gorgon: Bunny 'Striker' Lee and the Roots of Reggae

'I Am The Gorgon' is a documentary about the career of the Jamaican record producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee.

Narrated by Dennis Alcapone and directed by Diggory Kendrick, the film gains an insight into the life of Bunny and how he became one of the major players in the Jamaican music industry. Featuring U Roy, Dennis Alcapone, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Sly and Robbie, Johnny Clarke, John Holt and many more.

The event, presented by Printed Matter, will also include a book launch, and a Q&A with Author Noel Hawks and record collector and DJ, Phil Enthucol:

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Jamaican Recordings record label, Printed Matter Bookshop has collaborated with the label's founders, reggae historians and writers, Noel Hawks and Jah Floyd, in producing a trilogy of books detailing the growth of the Jamaican Recording Industry told through the various studios where the music was made and manufactured.

This fascinating story has been assembled after exhaustive, and extensive research and includes interviews with many of the key players from defining periods in the history of reggae music.
Jamaican Recordings is presented in three volumes; this event will launch Volume Two: 'Rock Steady to Rockers: from Treasure Isle to Channel One'.
