Electric Palace is delighted to host a regular Punk Choir!

Support the Punk Choir at their next gig - you can find all the details on the Hastings Punk Choir website.

Punk Choir is Hastings’ only ‘anti-choir’, bringing a punk ethos and attitude!

Formed in November 2021 the choir embodies the DIY punk approach. We all have our own singing styles, and while talent is appreciated, enthusiasm is essential.

The choir has grown to about 50 singers and usually about 25 punks at performances, sometimes more.

Highlights’ of 2023 included Small World festival, Sandwich Folk and Ale Festival, The Others Markets, Frocked up Friday, Loud Women at the Piper, and singing with Frank from Blue Velvet!

What does Punk Choir sing?

As we are punks we have to argue about what is punk! Currently we are singing songs by Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sex Pistols, The Raincoats, Wire, X-Ray Spex, the Lovely Eggs and the Dead Kennedys. All arranged by the choir's fabulous musical director, Tom.

If you are interested in joining the Punk Choir, there are newbie sessions at regular intervals. Don’t worry, there aren't auditions, it’s just a chance to see if it’s something you wanna do.

Newbie sessions will generally be at the start of a new term so check the Punk Choir website for the next date.
