November lockdown closure

Sign up to our enewsletter for regular film links and community picks for cinematic entertainment at home.

It's a shame we have to close again for November due to new Covid-19 lockdown regulations. Thank you all for your tremendous support in booking our November screenings before the announcement, and supporting the cinema as part of our Save the Electric Palace campaign.

Of course everything is currently very uncertain, but we hope we will be allowed to reopen in December. In this eventuality, we will reschedule most of the films that we had scheduled for November to play in December and January 2021 if we're able.

All existing ticket bookings have been offered refunds or the option to donate to the cinema.

We’ve all been truly bowled over by your encouragement and support, and we hope that in the future we may have some positive news to share. Until then, thanks again for being such a fantastic community of film lovers.

A personal note from our cinema manager, Alan:

"Thank you all for your messages of support and for the tremendous response to our ‘Save our cinema’ campaign. It has been so nice to see familiar faces return to the screenings.

It’s such a shame we have to close for a second time, but rest assured we will be here at the beginning of December (we hope!) to warmly welcome you back again.  Until then, stay safe."

Christmas film suggestions

We asked our social media followers a question this week:

If the Electric Palace were to be open this December for Christmas season, what unusual festive films would you like to see on our big screen while supping your mulled wine?

Do email us your thoughts about any obscure, offbeat, and curious suggestions for Christmas-themed films, and we'll see what we can do if we're able to open this December.
