Coming soon, The Electric Palace and The French Space will come together in February and May once again to offer two special evenings devoted to French cinema and to the French language. We call this Club Cinoche!
The evenings will include a full film screening alongside interactive conversation class hosted by Alison Stockford of The French Space, with other Francophiles.
What better way to practise your French than to relax, socialise and link it to something of cultural interest?
Come and view a fabulous French film in a beautiful and cosy independent cinema and enjoy informal opportunities throughout the evening to discuss the movie en français!
Marius - Thursday 8 February, 7.00pm
Based on Marcel Pagnol's play, this warm and light comedy follows the titular 18 year-old (Raphaël Personnaz), who is torn between his love of Fanny (Victoire Bélézy) and also his dreams of escaping his small town and seeing the world.
What's included with the classes?
We provide prompts, phrases and vocabulary to get you speaking about the film in pairs and small groups. The bar will be open for a glass of wine or beer to compliment the experience.
With French cinéma there's plenty to talk about. Come and unleash your inner French film-critic! Event starts at 7pm.
