Changes coming after our recent survey

Sunday morning screenings, blockbuster hits and more live comedy and music coming up, in response to your recent feedback.

Ahead of our official reopening at the end of March, we've been responding to the feedback you provided in our survey at the start of the year.

We want to make sure that we use your incredibly generous donations to our Crowdfunder to provide you with more of what you want from the Electric Palace.

As a result of your survey responses, we've made a few changes to our programming and the way we operate:

Sunday morning screenings

Firstly, your responses showed that you'd like more Sunday morning screenings.

From the start of May, we'll be running regular weekly Sunday 11am screenings featuring a mixture of classic Golden Age of Hollywood films, plus a range of film noir and world cinema titles that you highlighted.

Earlier evening start time: 7.30pm

Our screenings will now generally start at 7.30pm instead of 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Live music and comedy

In addition to our film programme, you also told us that you'd like more music documentaries, live comedy and live music - so you'll see this reflected in our upcoming events, such as within our forthcoming season of Formative Films chosen by special guests.

Check back in very soon to see our exciting selection of shows lined up.

80s and 90s blockbusters

The survey results indicated that you'd love to enjoy the occasional 80s or 90s Blockbuster smash or Brat Pack classic. So we're looking forward to kicking off these regular screenings in May with Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 smash The Outsiders (pictured) starring Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise and Patrick Swayze.

Adjusted hire times

The cinema is available for private hire for your own party or event. We're about to adjust the hire slots to allow for some events to start earlier.

Local refreshments

You'll also enjoy more local refreshments and snacks when you next visit. Sit back and relax with some delicious Old Town local rum Rumbustian, and enjoy other drinks recommended by nearby establishments. We also hope to offer a new film and Sunday lunch meal deal option. Further details to be announced soon.

Until then, please book for our upcoming screenings announced so far. We need your continued support and custom to sustain the cinema as a great asset for the community.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
