Remembrance Sunday logoOur first Remembrance Sunday of the year pays tribute to Rob Reiner - a brilliant talent behind and in front of the camera. He directed some of the most successful films of the 80s and 90s, such as Stand by Me, Misery, A Few Good Men and The Princess Bride. Reiner leaves an incredible cinematic legacy of truly iconic films.

The Princess Bride is a romantic comedy adventure, now regarded as a cult classic and one of the greatest films of the 1980s. Adapted by William Goldman (Butch Cassidy and the
Sundance Kid) from his novel, the story fuses swashbuckling pirates, familial revenge and a giant in a fairytale quest for true love. The brilliant cast also includes Peter Falk, Christopher Guest and Carol Kane.

Remembrance Sunday celebrates the life and craft of a recently passed cinematic luminary. On the first Sunday of each month the Electric Palace will pay tribute to those who have made an impact in front of or behind the camera and whose work has inspired audiences and helped to shape modern cinema.

Devised and introduced by Ilona Cheshire.
