First Tuesday Roots Reggae double bill curated with Roots&Rhythm. First up, Reggae in a Babylon, a beautifully shot film documenting the birth and growth of British urban reggae in the 70s including amazing early footage of Brixton, Steel Pulse and an interview with The Lovejoys. Second up, Ina Vangard Style, Mark Iration and Dennis Rootikal documenting the rise of Iration Steppas, the groundbreaking sound system out of Leeds (see trailer here Ina Vanguard Style).
Introduction by Henry Matic, trombone player who has played with Aswad, Horace Andy and Johnny Clarke to name but a few. Henry will introduce the film with a few words with what it was like to be part of the Early British Reggae scene. Interval with Roots&Rhythm.
