Tawai is the word the nomadic hunter-gatherers of Borneo use to describe their inner feeling of connection to nature.

Filmed over four years, this beautiful and insightful film follows Bruce Parry as he takes us on a  journey with nomadic tribes from the forests of Borneo, to the Indian Subcontinent and deep into the Amazon. He reflects on what has happened since we stopped roaming and began to settle and why we have stopped connecting with nature. The nomadic hunter-gatherers perhaps have something to teach us about connecting to each other and the environment. Stunning footage from his travels is interspersed with interviews with choice experts. Many ideas are discussed such as mindfulness, brain function, the environment and community.

Tawai is a quest for reconnection, providing a powerful voice from the heart of the forest itself.
